Matrix Nano Keypad general features

  • Enhanced security
This reader combines physical and digital protection. Its embedded accelerometer detects any movement in real time to alert the system in the event of tampering or removal attempts. Simultaneously, its EAL6+ certified component provides maximum defense against data hacking.

  • Full MIFARE® compatibility
Native support for MIFARE® proximity card technologies (Classic, Ultralight, Plus, DESFire® EV2/EV3) operating in CSN or secure mode to prevent cloning risks. Every MIFARE® card is authenticated prior to unlocking. Verification for each card is carried out at 13.56 MHz.

  • Mobile access (BLE & NFC)
Thanks to the LiNEGUARD Access application, users can unlock doors directly from their smartphones via NFC. A seamless and secure alternative that complements existing RFID cards and badges without requiring hardware changes.

  • Simplified installation
Fast deployment thanks to 4 adjustable operating modes: CSN (standard), PRESET (preconfigured with activation code), CUSTOM (tailor-made configuration via LiNEGUARD Studio), and MOBILE (smartphone access). Switching to Custom or Mobile modes is easily activated by presenting a dedicated card.

  • Compact surface mounting:
Nano-format housing ideal for narrow installations. Equipped with a multi-wire cable outlet, it features an IP65 rating ensuring excellent resistance to outdoor environmental constraints.
  • Matrix Nano Keypad, a communicating reader

The behavior and feedback of this MIFARE® badge reader from the LiNEGUARD range are fully customizable via the LiNEGUARD Studio tool to reinvent visual communication between the reader and the user.

    Dynamic matrix light communication

In their Matrix version, LiNEGUARD readers feature a unique 25-LED matrix offering a fully customizable light signature. Thanks to built-in templates or custom animation creation via LiNEGUARD Studio, each MIFARE® badge reader benefits from its own tailored visual communication. Moving away from traditional status LEDs, this device displays clear symbols and dynamic light animations.

Precise adjustments to colors, LED positioning, and smooth light-up or fade-out effects allow you to compose custom messages. The matrix lights up with every MIFARE® card or badge read, delivering strong and instantaneous visual feedback.

Custom-designed to set the tone at every entrance

Just like the LED matrix, the audio signature of LiNEGUARD readers can be configured in LiNEGUARD Studio. Thanks to full customization options or a selection of preset melodies, the reader emits a clear, harmonious acoustic signal, applied consistently every time a card, badge, or smartphone is presented.

    Customizable design

    Matrix Nano Keypad technical specifications

Native integration of Wiegand, OSDP, and SSCP - SPAC (certification pending) standards into LiNEGUARD readers ensures universal support across all access control projects.
To minimize the environmental impact of installations, readers in this range are equipped with a smart presence sensor. When no presence is detected, the reader automatically deactivates its most energy-intensive components, including the LED matrix and RFID antenna, optimizing overall power consumption.
Custom logo printing on the reader allows the hardware to match the corporate identity of the host organization, ensuring equipment tailored to its brand.
Meeting IK08 and IP65 protection standards, Matrix Nano Keypad readers deliver high security and resistance against impacts, harsh weather, and solid ingress.
Interactive and communicative, these readers feature a 25-LED matrix. They display clear pictograms based on user rights as soon as a badge, card, or smartphone is presented.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What benefits does the 25-LED matrix bring to this MIFARE® badge reader?

Matrix technology radically transforms the signaling and interactivity of this MIFARE® badge reader. Instead of a simple colored indicator light or a standard flashing LED, the square 25-LED matrix displays real dynamic pictograms and guidance icons (directional arrows, rejection crosses, validation symbols, waiting hour-glasses, progress arcs).

Fully compatible with high-security MIFARE® Ultralight, Classic, Plus, and DESFire tags, this RFID reader provides visual feedback for every reader event. This visual feedback streamlines user flow at access points. The entire system integrates naturally with the centralized management platform to ensure comprehensive flow control.

Does the compact Nano format limit the readability of the Matrix icons?

Quite the opposite. Designed for easy installation on narrow door frames or profiles, the Nano format relies on the high density and brightness of its 25 LEDs. As a result, pictograms maintain optimal readability, even under bright outdoor light or from a distance.

When it comes to performance, this compact model packs the exact same 13.56 MHz RFID reading power as full-size readers. Designed for modern buildings, this reader conceals its cables from the back. The outcome: a sleek finish, perfect for high-end entrances.

Is it possible to create custom pictograms for this MIFARE® badge reader?

Yes, this is one of the major strengths of LiNEGUARD readers. Through LiNEGUARD Studio, the custom configuration tool, each device becomes a visual and audio information medium to simplify communication and flow management across an entire building.

    Configuration offers two options:

    • Built-in templates: a catalog of ready-to-use symbols for immediate commissioning.
    • 100% custom creation: pixel-precise animation design on the 25-LED matrix (light arcs, directional arrows, alert signals, event visuals).

LiNEGUARD Studio ensures precise adjustment of colors, durations, transitions, and audio signals. This flexibility allows to harmonize signage across an entire site, guide users effectively, and reinforce overall security depending on events.

How does the dual-level security combining RFID badge and keypad code work?

LiNEGUARD readers equipped with a keypad integrate a 13.56 MHz RFID antenna to provide full dual-factor authentication. Access logic is managed directly from the controller, particularly when configuring secure mode. When a card, badge, or smartphone is presented, the controller logs the credential and instructs the reader to trigger its specific visual and audio signal indicating it is awaiting a PIN. The unlocking impulse is sent to the lock only after both the badge and keypad combination have been successfully validated in sequence.
