Line Ultra Touch reader
Line Ultra Touch: secure tactile outdoor badge reader
The Line Ultra Touch outdoor badge reader combines high-level protection with optimal integration flexibility for existing access management systems in the professional market. Designed to equip new construction sites or infrastructure renovations, this RFID reader precisely meets all entry security requirements. This outdoor badge reader with touchscreen is ideally suited for office facades, large-scale industrial sites, public buildings, or private residences, while ensuring rigorous access control for every presented badge. Reading MIFARE cards and badges is instantaneous.
Equipped with an EAL6+ certified electronic component acting as a digital safe, LiNEGUARD readers back up the security keys used on an access control system. With the LiNEGUARD Studio configuration tool, users can create their own badge profiles, thereby customizing their facility's security.
The touchscreen helps enhance site security: it can display a coded keypad and allows securing access with dual identification via PIN code & badge, card, or smartphone. Additionally, the displayed keypad can, at the administrator's discretion, scramble key positions to prevent replay attacks or key location memorization.

Line Ultra Touch general features
Presence of an integrated detection accelerometer to immediately signal the slightest attempt at tampering or physical removal of the RFID reader, with rear connection security and optional triggering of LED/buzzer scenarios pre-defined by the system administrator.
Full compatibility with proximity card technologies from the MIFARE® range (Classic, Light, and DESFire versions) to guarantee complete interoperability between badges and cards, regardless of the frequency used. Reading MIFARE badges remains instant on this outdoor reader, including for the latest MIFARE technologies.
Native compatibility with the LiNEGUARD Access application, enabling secure, dematerialized access validation via a Bluetooth or NFC connection, complementing card or badge reading.
Four operating modes to cover all requirement levels: CSN (serial number reading, non-secure, compatible with any ISO 14443 badge/card), PRESET (preconfigured keys, plug-and-play), CUSTOM (user-defined security keys), and MOBILE (smartphone unlocking, Bluetooth, and Apple/Google Wallet). No cable required: the configuration is transmitted via BLE from LiNEGUARD Studio Mobile or by simply presenting a configuration badge in front of the outdoor badge reader.
Waterproof design with a reader spacer featuring a rigid structure along with a flexible membrane. This allows connecting cables to the reader's terminal outputs while maintaining an IP65 protection rating.
Line Ultra Touch reader, a communicative interface
The behavior and graphical display of these LiNEGUARD readers can be customized via the LiNEGUARD Studio platform to evolve communication between the access reader and users. Each outdoor badge reader thus becomes a smart interaction point, continuously connected to the platform, going far beyond simple badge reading.
Dynamic visual and luminous communication
LiNEGUARD readers configured in the Line version (featuring a 6-LED visual guide) as well as the Matrix version (25-LED display matrix) offer a fully customizable light signature. By relying on the LiNEGUARD scenario library or designing custom animations via LiNEGUARD Studio, administrators can create a unique visual sign system triggered as soon as a badge, card, or smartphone is read. The software interface allows adjusting color codes, LED positions, informative pictograms or visuals (touchscreen), as well as tones, durations, and message transitions. This visual status provides real-time feedback to users regarding badge or code validation, without requiring a physical keypad.
A custom sound signature
Just like LED customization, the audio response of LiNEGUARD readers is configured within the LiNEGUARD Studio tool. Whether adjusting settings entirely or applying preset sounds, this option allows associating clear auditory messages with various access control events: forced door, badge authorized/denied, or loss of communication. A specific tone can thus signal an alarm, a door left open, or an unauthorized badge presented to the access control system.
Advanced graphical customization
To ensure seamless visual integration with the company’s architectural environment, the touchscreen and logos displayed by LiNEGUARD readers are customizable. This flexibility turns the RFID reader into a true communication medium rather than a simple technical product among access control accessories. These custom products enhance brand image with every badge presented.

Why LiNEGUARD?
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
What does the Touch interface offer compared to physical keypads?
The capacitive touchscreen of this outdoor badge reader offers a modern, fully scalable graphical display. This system allows real-time modification of the visuals seen by the user, whether a company logo, directional instructions, or a dynamic virtual keypad. Unlike a reader equipped with a traditional mechanical keypad whose keys suffer from wear and tear over time, this touchscreen model eliminates any risk of physical degradation to the typing components. The touchscreen keypad also provides more discreet code entry, reducing the risk of shoulder surfing when entering confidential codes.
This absence of mechanical friction simplifies routine housing maintenance while significantly extending the operational lifespan of the RFID reader. Secure data transfer is carried out via industry-standard connection links, offering full compatibility with Wiegand, OSDP, and SSCP protocols depending on the access control unit. In OSDP and SSCP, each bit frame transmitted between the RFID reader and the electronic controller is encrypted to preserve the integrity of identification data from badges, cards, or smartphones.
Is this outdoor badge reader resistant to harsh weather conditions?
Absolutely. Engineered with industrial-grade hardened materials, this outdoor badge reader features an IP65 ingress protection rating against severe weather (rain, snow, dust) and an IK07 impact resistance rating for the Line Ultra Touch model. The reading process for MIFARE range RFID chips (13.56 MHz) maintains absolute reliability under all weather conditions, as does the reading of low-frequency cards in kHz. The screen’s graphical animations as well as the 6-LED light guide remain perfectly visible to the user, even in high-intensity direct sunlight.
The wired connection for technical data links relies on the encrypted OSDP protocol, ensuring complete integrity and security for data exchanged between the badge reader and the central control unit. This connection cable ensures a stable power supply and reliable data transmission. Encrypted processing prevents any attempt at interception or hacking, making this outdoor RFID reader an ideal piece of equipment to secure sensitive areas of a building exposed to external threats, in addition to an intrusion alarm or a fingerprint biometric device.
How does this touchscreen reader improve the reception experience on site?
The integration of an interactive touchscreen transforms the relationship between the control system and visitors by making the interface more ergonomic and intuitive. By displaying clear, contextualized visual instructions based on the reading result (such as an access validation message, a refusal notification, or a specific directional instruction), this proximity reader seamlessly guides staff and external service providers as soon as they cross the door, even before the release of the electrical lock or latch.
With the help of the LiNEGUARD Studio configuration tool, administrators can adjust all graphical elements and rights management. Security managers can thus customize the layout of the virtual keypad used for entering a temporary code. User feedback and reviews confirm the increased comfort provided by this interface compared to traditional mechanical keypad readers.
What types of badges and cards with different technologies are supported by the terminal?
This RFID reader benefits from a unique reading versatility on the security market. Thanks to its advanced electronics, it is capable of analyzing the most common RFID chip technologies in the sector. The reader supports technology operating at 13.56 MHz, encompassing the entire MIFARE chip family (Classic, Light, DESFire), ideal for the secure and encrypted data processing of each card or badge. The check of each MIFARE identifier is verified in less than 200ms.
Whether a user presents an older proximity card, a modern high-security resident badge, or a smartphone connected via NFC, this outdoor RFID badge reader decodes the identifier instantly. The use of a master badge also allows the device to be configured standalone for certain maintenance operations, without disrupting the connection of the lock, latch, or security vaults managed by the company’s systems. Once connected to LiNEGUARD Studio, this RFID reader integrates naturally into a complete kit alongside other accessories and products in the range for a seamless installation, regardless of the distance between the readers and the central control unit.
