General features – Line Nano Prox proximity reader
Native integration of a motion-detection accelerometer to immediately alert the system of tampering, removal, or vandalism attempts. Additionally, an EAL6+ security element guarantees optimal protection against hacking.
Fully open to proximity card technologies in the MIFARE® range (MIFARE Classic, MIFARE Ultralight, MIFARE Plus, and DESFire®) operating on the 13.56 MHz frequency.
Native compatibility with the LiNEGUARD Access mobile app, a smartphone identification solution that works across all readers in the range via Bluetooth or NFC connection.
To cover all use cases, four operating modes exist: CSN (standard), PRESET (ready-to-use with an activation code), CUSTOM (custom key via LiNEGUARD Studio), and MOBILE (smartphone identification). Switching to Custom or Mobile mode is achieved by simply presenting an activation card in commercial installations, and comes pre-activated for residential markets.
Narrow, sleek casing featuring a high IP65 protection rating for easy integration at all access points. Its compact dimensions are perfectly suited for tight spaces (subject to strict adherence to installation and wiring instructions).
Line Nano Prox: a communicating proximity reader
The LiNEGUARD Studio tool allows full customization of visual and audio signals across the LiNEGUARD reader range. This flexibility provides a redesigned visual and auditory interaction for users.
Modern, vertical light communication
In the “Line” version, LiNEGUARD readers feature a vertical 6-LED visual guide offering a fully customizable light signature. Using LiNEGUARD Studio, you can freely choose between built-in presets or create custom animations. The tool allows precise adjustment of colors, LED fade-in/fade-out transitions, and sequence durations for each proximity reader. Badge or card validation is thus accompanied by a smooth, clear, and instantly recognizable visual signal.
Custom audio signature
Just like LED customization, the sound response of proximity readers is configured within the LiNEGUARD Studio tool. Fully customizable or modifiable using preset melodies, this feature allows you to link clear, intuitive audio messages to each access control event. The reader’s sound behavior adjusts globally for all presented credentials (badges, cards, or smartphones).
Custom design
Readers in the LiNEGUARD range feature a high-resistance casing (IK10 impact protection rating) and adapt to any brand identity thanks to customizable logo printing on the enclosure. An ideal solution to seamlessly integrate the hardware with each site’s graphic design guidelines.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
What environments is this compact keypad-less proximity reader designed for?
This proximity reader combines ease of use and high structural robustness. Its narrow format and compact dimensions facilitate installation on door frames, aluminum profiles, or restricted technical spaces. The minimalist dimensions of the casing allow it to be mounted anywhere. Available in a 13.56 MHz MIFARE version, it integrates easily into any access control system to secure commercial offices, industrial sites, or residential properties requiring reliable badge, card, or smartphone identification, while offering an advantageous entry-level price point.
Meeting rigorous IK10 and IP65 protection standards, this highly compact model resists weather conditions as well as vandalism risks, ensuring optimal integration both indoors and outdoors. Its minimalist dimensions make it one of the most discreet readers in the range.
Fully compatible with MIFARE® technology models, this reader integrates seamlessly without structural modifications into any existing access control network.
How is visual feedback delivered on this proximity reader?
The Line Nano Prox reader features the 6-LED vertical light guide distinctive to the Line finish, offering a refined, modern, and sleek visual signature. The reader’s lighting behavior during badge, card, or smartphone reads is configured using the LiNEGUARD Studio configuration tool.
The color, gradual LED light-up and fade-out, and sequence durations are fully customizable. The proximity reader provides precise visual signals for every created event: access granted (green), access denied (red), security alert…
The reader’s dimensions do not affect signal visibility. It remains immediately identifiable, even in direct sunlight or from a distance. This proximity reader delivers clear and intuitive visual feedback. It guarantees a premium user experience for high-end facilities, at a very competitive price point.
Does this compact proximity reader support mobile technologies?
Yes, absolutely. Despite its narrow format, this proximity reader embeds advanced electronics capable of interacting with smartphones via Bluetooth (BLE) or NFC. Commissioning is quick and easy thanks to 4 operating modes. To switch to mobile access, simply use the Custom or Mobile modes. In the commercial market, activation is performed by presenting a dedicated card. In the residential market, the system comes pre-activated.
Employees and regular users can thus do away with physical badges by validating access directly from their smartphones using the LiNEGUARD Access application. A virtualization feature ideal for simplifying temporary visitor management or compensating for lost badges. Thanks to the encrypted data processing transmitted to the central unit, communication is fully protected against interception or wireless hacking attempts. High-level protection for this proximity reader, which maintains full compatibility with existing badges and cards.
Does the reader operate in standalone mode?
No, LiNEGUARD readers do not operate in standalone mode and must be connected to an access control unit. This setup ensures enhanced security as well as precise permissions management. When connected to the internet, the central unit allows real-time adjustments to permissions, including adding, modifying, or deleting badges and users.
Where are security keys stored within the access control system?
The system adapts to any security setup by offering two operating modes for key storage:
- Directly inside the reader: keys are saved inside the certified EAL6+ secure element, particularly when communicating with the central unit via Wiegand protocol during badge, card, or smartphone reads.
- Within the central unit (transparent mode): keys are hosted in the controller, which is located in a protected indoor area of the building. This mode applies when the reader communicates via secure OSDP or SSCP protocols.
All these keys (whether stored in the reader’s memory, the controller, or badge profiles) can be created, managed, and deployed easily using LiNEGUARD Studio.
